They taste like you're biting into water.

Yeah I know almost all produce/meat/dairy is mostly water, but the taste of the peppers embodies that the most.

They also have a hollow, crunchy noise when you bite.

I have a friend who has anosmia for green bell peppers. She didn't know that they actually had flavor until we took a wine course and she couldn't smell the green pepper when they gave us the doctored wines.

How do you feel about stuffed peppers? I love 'em, so gooood .

When I went to look for a picture almost all of them were some other color beside green. My question to you is, can you tell the difference without looking? At the stores around here, yellow or red ones cost two or three times as much as green ones, and I once tried to tell them apart in a scientific test (closed my eyes and had my daughter feed me bits of each) but I couldn't taste any difference.

I don't know. I've never tried that. But I think the yellow/orange/red peppers are sweeter than the greens.

Stuffed peppers might be good depending on what's in them and how long the peppers are cooked I don't like mushy produce like they'd be when cooked for too long.

Wait, what color? Because the green ones taste the grossest to me. None of them taste like water, but the green ones are the worst, and they're in everything! Well, at least in Tex-Mex food. The red ones seem ubiquitous in other applications. It's maddening. The only time I actually like bell peppers are on pizzas for some reason.

To me, the most "water-y" veggie is celery. I mean, it's got a distinct flavor, too, but celery always makes me feel like I'm eating a whole lot of nothing. But then... Try making a decent stock without it. It can't be done. Celery adds that something magical that broths just need .

Stuffed peppers are good. The pepper usually doesn't get soggy.

The one I just ate was orange.

My wonderful wife informed me that the colored peppers are sweeter and they are grown differently than the green ones.

Also, Costco's stuffed peppers are the most delicious things I have ever ate there. You buy them uncooked and just take them home and cook them at home and devour them.

I can tell the difference between green peppers, and the rest of them. The red/yellow/orange ones are a lot sweeter, and the green ones are a lot more bland, or sometimes even bitter. I'll spend the extra for the others, if I'm going to eat them raw. If I'm cooking them, then I'll just buy the green ones usually.

I cannot taste a difference between the red, orange, and yellow ones though.

My friends two year old son likes to do that. He eats them hole, stem seeds and all.

you keep them all. I'm deathly allergic. If I want a watery veg I'll eat cucumbers.

I'm terrible with flavors and tasting things, however I love bell peppers. To me, green peppers are the sweetest, red is a bit "darker" and spicier, yellow is most bitter, orange is more neutral. I may be describing them wrong, but I can definitely tell the difference in taste.

See, that's why I can't do raw peppers. Cooked, they're pretty good. Sauteed in a burrito. Put in a Chicago-style pizza amongst cheesy, tomatoey layers of happiness.

But no no no NO to eating them raw. NEIN.
